I am a 5^th year Ph.D. candidate in the College of Education, and I’m from Washington, DC. My favorite Stanley story took place back home! I was applying to graduate programs in late 2017 and took a walk through the National Gallery of Art to clear my head. Pollock’s Mural was on display and, when I saw it was on loan from the Stanley, I took it as a sign that I needed to go to Iowa for grad school. It feels like a full-circle moment now to go see it whenever I need a break from dissertation writing.
