ABOUT

The Stanley Campus Council (SCC) functions as the Stanley Museum of Art's student-run advisory board. The SCC provides a platform for UI students to exercise their voice within the museum space: they do so by developing and facilitating student-specific programming creating and sharing original content, and creating opportunities for collaboration, partnership, and leadership among other UI student orgs and campus groups.

Mission

Members of the Stanley Campus Council will:

Plan and host monthly events to engage students at the Stanley Museum of Art

Collaborate with student orgs, clubs, and other groups on campus to create engaging and diverse programming

Develop channels for showcasing student projects: research, creative work, etc.

Represent the student body to the Stanley staff and participate in internal program reviews

Engage deeply with the inner workings of the Stanley and its staff through a range of professional development and career exploration opportunities

JOIN

The SCC recruits new members at the beginning of each spring semester, with members hold their positions as part of the Stanley Campus Council through the following fall (and spring, if desired).

Our application period for the 2022/23 academic year closed on February 10, 2023. Check back next year if you're interested in joining!

Commitment

The SCC meets weekly each semester.

Meetings are held Thursday evenings, from 6 - 7 pm, at the Stanley Museum of Art, when the museum is open late. Snacks provided!

Each month, when the SCC hosts a Monthly Meetup, the SCC meeting time will shift to 5 pm - 6 pm instead of 6 pm - 7 pm. Meals are provided on Thursdays that consist of both a meeting and an event.

Members are expected to attend all meetings when possible; they are also expected to help run at least three SCC events a semester.

Members are encouraged to contribute in any way they desire: with social media, website and blog content, or in other ways. If you have a skill you want to show off, we'd love to help!
